Adding some accessories to Pumba

With some change in our pockets, we headed into the 4wdsupacentre at Brendale to pick up some additional accessories to add to the camping kit. Parked in the lot were 3 Wranglers (all JK’s) just to make us a little jealous but only for a second as we love our TJ “Pumba”. So with some small cash to burn we picked up some much needed essentials.

First on the list a trash bag for the back spare. At $24.95 keeping the smelly trash out of the Jeep couldn’t be better spent.

Second up was a new ground mat for our camp. A 3×3 gause mat is just what we need to make things feel a little more civilised on those dirt camps.

Next up a reconditioned air pump – the Thumper Max at $69 is just too good to leave behind. In our last post we mentioned that we hadn’t really been off road yet. But preping for Fraser later in the year this was high on the list.

A 74pc toolkit for the unexpected.

And lastly we got a water proof roof bag for the roof rack, to keep all our clothes and gear dry and leave some room for the dogs in the back of Pumba.

At just $249 for all this you can’t go past Adventure Kings and 4wdsupacentre.com.au. Thinking ahead for our round Australia adventure we will definitely be back for the roof top tent.

We called into Snowy’s at Brendale and picked up some other goodies. An Oztrail canopy and some new camp chairs. We were going to go traditional with a tarp and poles but altogether this would have cost over $300 so decided on a 2.4 x 2.4 oztrail canopy.

On the way home we passed yet another JK, and after a Jeep wave we headed home to reconfigure our new gear into the mix.

So the Jeep is already pretty full and all this new gear meant a reconfiguration.  Out came the custom shelves we built to make a few minor changes and we are now ready to go with our new gear…. and on the plus side… the dogs have some additional room.

Stay tuned for the Easter camping at Amamoor (home of the Gympie Muster) to see how our new gear goes.

Next weekend is the 4×4 Outdoor Show where we hope to add the last addition to the already full Jeep TJ “Pumba”, a solar blanket to keep us powered off the grid.

Stay tuned for our next update from the 4×4 show.
